Yay for tomatoes!!

I have several tomatoes growing on my large tomato plant. Here's my first picked tomato.
I probably would have left it; however, the vine attached to it was breaking so I thought I might as well pick it. I'm new to this whole "garden" experience. So, I'm not real sure when I should pick them off the vine. Do I wait until they are somewhat ripe? Do I pick them while they're still firm and green? Any green thumbs out there, please give me your opinion. Also, my jalapenos have yet to grow produce. Should they by now? They honestly look healthier than my tomato plants. Perhaps that's a good sign.

Anyway, storms are on their way. My child is napping. My dogs are whining at the backdoor. These next few days will be e x t r a   l o n g. My dogs are awful during bad weather. :(

Grady is FIVE months old!

Life is so much fun with this little guy!

- He wears a size 3 diaper. I also use reusable diapers regularly now. They seem to work okay as long as I change him often. I don't let him sleep in them because they would definitely leak.
- He wears 6-12 month clothes. I need to figure out what he's going to sleep in once he outgrows his long sleeved 6 month outfits. I like to put him in long sleeves because I don't like to have blankets near his face, and I want his arms covered. He's started wiggling a lot more and pulling the blanket under his arms up. I may have to see what they have in the stores. I don't have any larger, warmer footsie outfits that will work.
- Every night between 7-9 he just babbles and giggles. He even screams just to hear his own voice. He seems to do it regularly every night. It's rather cute.
- Since we've been back from Dallas, Grady has woken up several times a night. At first I thought it was just because of being away from home several weekends in a row. But it may be a growth spurt or something else. The night before last was the first time he slept all night again. Last night was great too. He went to sleep early for him (about 10) and slept until 9:30, waking up once to eat. I was pretty surprised. The last two days he's been extra sleepy so I'm thinking that maybe he's having a growth spurt. He's been napping longer during the day, too.
- Little man isn't rolling around everywhere yet. He doesn't really roll. But he does twist his body and move around, which is the important part about him "being able to roll". So, I'm not concerned. - The last several days he's really perfected sitting up. It's like overnight he realized he could sit up alone and is balancing so well. Zac and I are super excited to see this. I've started sitting him in his play pen and he'll just sit and play alone for a long time without falling over.
- So, at three months it looked like he was losing all of his hair. Well, now he has the cutest, softest peach fuzz on top of his head. It is really sweet looking and feeling. It's a light brown/blondish color.
- He doesn't have any teeth or appearance of teeth anytime soon. He does drool more and puts everything in his mouth, including my phone (already) if given the opportunity.
- He's showing a lot more interest in the world around him. He stares at the dogs regularly and watches them as they move around him.
- He's grasping toys so much better. He's also reaching out for toys and things that he wants. While in Dallas, we somehow left his music making toy. I'm debating going to buy some type of toy for him. He has some little things, but I think he needs something for him to interact with more.
- Sometimes I think he is reaching out to me when held by others, but I'm not sure if that's just my imagination.
- Zac and I think he's starting to know his name. He doesn't automatically turn to look at us when we say it; however, he does turn to his name occasionally and seems to listen more intently if he knows we are speaking to him.
- I think he's starting to look more and more like his daddy. Not completely like him.. he still has my round face and eye structure, but I am seeing some of Zac's expressions. Zac doesn't see it. He doesn't think he looks a thing like himself.

Little man is just getting bigger by the day! He's changing so quickly, and it's so sweet to see. Some people get sad about their babies getting older. I honestly am enjoying it quite a bit. He was a precious newborn; however, I love seeing him grow and learn new things. I love watching him watch us. I love how he babbles to toys. It's so much fun watching my boy grow up!

Much love,
Emily
